From the Heart

2 Corinthians 9:7
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
If you want to see the blessings of the Lord flow in, then try giving! I know some people find it difficult to drop money in the offering plate, perhaps because they don't like the way the money is being used or they just don't see any point in giving. For the Christian it is your responsibility to give to the Lord's work. It's something that was implemented long ago, even in the old testament you can read accounts of giving of tithes. Several things are to be done if you want to receive the full benefits of it. First, you have to give "not grudgingly" this means don't get sick over what you are about to do when the offering plate passes in front of you, in fact the Bible tells us to give cheerfully - be glad that you are blessed enough to give and do it without giving it second thought. You never know if some missionary may get a portion of the money you ave and a soul gets to enter Heaven because of your giving. Second, don't give out of necessity, some people only give because they feel they have to because the Bible requires us to - although it's always good to do this and following God's word. What Paul is saying is - if you don't give cheerfully, then it's not worth the giving. Give God full control and give to Him!
